Botanical name: Leucojum autumnale. Family: Amaryllidacae. Plant type: Bulb. Plant size: 10-20cm tall x 5cm wide Depth & spacing: Plant 10-20cm of soil covering the tops of the bulbs and plant in clumps with 5cm or more of space between each bulb. Watering: Keep well watered whilst actively growing but allow them to dry out whilst dormant. Frost tolerances: We've found this bulb frost hardy but some references say to give them frost shelter in areas where temperatures fall below zero. Flowering time: Autumn Preferred soil: Rich & well drained Preferred aspect: Sunny Ideal climates: Subtropical to cool. Fertilising: Feed annually in Spring with a general purpose fertiliser and feed again after the flowers have finished.
