Plant size: 30cm tall with flower heads that are 2-3in (5-7.5cm) across.
Depth & spacing: Plant 5-7cm apart and 5-12cm deep).
Watering: Water whilst the plants are actively growing (from when the foliage appears) & allow the soil to dry out once the plant goes into dormancy.
Frost tolerances: Good.
Flowering time: Late Spring
Preferred soil: Free draining Acid to alkaline soils.
Rich Preferred aspect: Full sun to semi-shade
Ideal climates: Cool to temperate.
Pruning: None required.
Fertilising: Feed at planting & again after flowering. Blood & bone, dynamic lifter or similar fertiliser is suitable.
Uses & comments: This bulb is native to Western Europe was introduced in 17th century. It's great for naturalising & vases.
