Depth & spacing: Plant with the crown at the soil surface & 45cm apart.
Watering: Keep adequately watered whilst actively growing, especially if the plant receives a lot of direct sunlight.
Frost tolerances: Frost hardy to -50C
Flowering time: The green flowers appear in early Spring (Aug - Oct). Note: The flowers appear in the second year & are delicately scented.
Preferred soil: Rich & well draining otherwise not particularly fussy.
Preferred aspect: Part to full shade.
Ideal climates: Cool to temperate.
Pruning: Cut back each Winter
Fertilising: Feed annually in Spring with a general purpose fertiliser.
Uses & comments: The flowers, like all Hellebores, are typically beautiful but it's the foliage that makes this variety really valuable in the shady garden.
