Rope Hoya
Botanical name: Hoya carnosa "Indian Rose"
Family: Asclepiadaceae.
Plant type: Evergreen runners to 1.5m
Plant size: 3-5m tall x 1m spread
Depth & spacing: Plant with the crown at the soil surface & 10cm apart.
Watering: Keep the soil moist over Winter and whilst the plant is actively growing.
Frost tolerances: Frost tender. In frost prone areas protect by positioning under the verandah, deep eaves or in a green house.
Flowering time: Spring to Autumn
Preferred soil: Loamy well drained soil or potting mix.
Preferred aspect: Shade or sunny indoor spot.
Ideal climates: Cool to temperate.
Fertilising: Plant in a rich soil and, when in growth apply a balanced liquid fertiliser monthly.
