Depth & spacing: Plant with the crown at the soil surface and 30cm apart.
Watering: Keep soil moist, especially over Summer, for best results (using a mulch will make this more simple to achieve).
Frost tolerances: Tolerant to -20C
Flowering time: Spring, Summer and Autumn.
Preferred soil: Needs well drained soil which is relatively fertile..
Preferred aspect: Prefers full sun but tolerates light shade.
Ideal climates: Cool to sub-tropical.
Pruning: Prune flowers off. Foliage may be cut back during the growing season to promote fresh growth.
Fertilising: Feed this plant generously because it takes a lot of for a plant to flower for as long as this one does. Feed annually in early Spring with a general purpose fertiliser &, for best results, use a liquid fertiliser regularly during the flowering seasons.
Uses & comments: This exceptionally long flowering & large flowered Pincushion flower was bred in NZ.
