Sea Holly White Form
Botanical name: Eryngium proteoflorums.
Plant type: Evergreen perennial
Plant size: 60cm tall x 90cm wide.
Depth & spacing: Plant with the crown at the soil surface and 60-90cm apart.
Watering: Water well to establish but, once established, this plant is drought hardy.
Frost tolerances: Fully hardy.
Flowering time: Nov- April (ie: they're in flower for approx. 6 months annually!)
Preferred soil: Fertile, free draining. They are also tolerant of excessive lime, gravel and impoverished soils.
Preferred aspect: Full sun.
Ideal climates: Cool to temperate.
Pruning/After flowering care: Cut the flowers off after flowering or pick them for vases or for drying.
Fertilising: Fertilise annually in early Spring with a general purpose fertiliser.
