Plant type: Herbaceous perennial
Size: 40cm tall x20cm wide.
Depth and Spacing: Plant with the crown just below soil surface level & 20cm apart.
Watering: Keep the soil moist.
Frost:Mostly frost hardy although with a very heavy frost theymay burn a little. However, since these plants are usually grown in a sheltered spot (ie shady), they're usually sufficiently protected from frosts.
Flowering time:
Carmine & Osprey: Summer.
Zwanenberg Blue: Summer til autumn.
Preferred Soil: Moist & well drained.
Preferred Aspect: Full shade to part light.
Ideal climates: Sub-tropical to cool.
Pruning:Cut back to the ground in Winter to maintain plant tidiness.
Fertilising: Fertilise annually in early Spring with a general purpose fertiliser.
