Verbena 'Babylon Series
Botanical name: Verbena 'Babylon Series' (Charmena, Fantasena, Luxena) &
Verbena lilacina 'De la Mina'
Plant type: Evergreen ground covers but should be cut back hard annually.
Flowering time: Spring to Autumn
Babylon Series: 30cm tall x 50cm spread.
'De la Mina': 50cm x 30cm
Preferred soil: Well drained, must have good Winter drainage.
Preferred position: Full sun is ideal although in warmer climates they
will tolerate part shade.
Preferred climate: Cool to sub-tropical.
Depth & spacing: Plant to the same depth as in the pot and Babylon Series
50cm apart and 'De la Mina up to 30cm.
Pruning: Trim spent flowers & cut back to 5 - 10cm tall each Winter.
Watering requirements: Water well during flowering period.
Fertiliser requirements: 1-2 handfuls of blood & bone or general-purpose
fertiliser per square metre applied in Spring.
Hazards: Insufficient drainage in Winter can cause root rot.
