Botanical names:V.cornuta (Viola Blue Poles), V.sororia (Viola 'Freckles') and Viola x hybrida (Viola 'Rebecca').
Size:
Blue Poles: 15cm tall x 20cm wide.
Freckles:15-20cm tall x15-20cm wide.
Rebecca:20 x 20cm.
Depth and Spacing: Plant with the surface soil level as per pot, 20cm apart.
Aspect: In cool climates these violets tolerate full sun to semi shade however in warmer climates they need part to full shade.
Soil: Rich & well draining.
Watering: Keep moist whilst growing.
Fertilising: Complete fertiliser
Flowering time:
Blue Poles: Spring to autumn.
Freckles: Spring.
Rebecca: Spring to autumn.
Pruning required: Remove any growth that spreads in an unwanted direction.
Frost: Planting under trees will provide the necessary frost protection.
Climates: Cool to temperate.
