Daffodils

Butterfly Daffodils

Elaborate flowers that resemble butterflies as they dance on a gentle spring breeze. The corona or trumpet is split to form a ruffle which makes the flower appear double. For this reason they are also known as Split Corona or Split Crown Daffodils. The blooms of Butterfly Daffodils are fragrant, distinctive and come in a great range of colours.

Double Daffodils

Twice as nice with double trumpets, petals or both. Vibrant spring colour, these Daffodils have all the trimmings. Fragrant, highly ruffled cultivars, these large flowers are delightful. Their layers of frills add a delightful texture to the garden. The nostalgic charm of Daffodils makes them hard to resist. Take advantage of the large variety available to create a symphony of colours and textures in your garden. Suitable for garden and container plantings.

Garden Daffodils

These are tough, hardy varieties that are simple to grow. Each of these cultivars has been trialled in our fields and we are confident of their quality. One of the first flowers to bring colour to the garden in the spring Daffodils are popular in gardens around the world. Daffodils can be planted either in the garden or in pots and can be relied upon to produce masses of reliable spring colour. There is no real trick to them, simply plant, water in, fertilise and wait!

Cluster Daffodils

These cheery blooms are known as Cluster Daffodils because the flowers ‘cluster’ together in groups - with more than one bloom on each stem forming an impressive display. They are also known as Jonquils, and Jonquil type Daffodils. Each of these blooms, with the exception of Snowflake, has a strong, fresh fragrance which carries beautifully throughout the garden. These bulbs grow and flower best when planted in full sun. They are easy to look after and can be left in the ground to naturalise. All you need to do is fertilise them annually and they will bring you great joy for years to come. These Daffodils are ideal to use in lawn planting. To create a natural display toss a handful into the air and plant them where they land. Over the years they will multiply to form clumps. When naturalising Daffodils we recommend you plant them deeper - to around three times the height of the bulb.

Miniature Daffodils

These petite blooms may be small in size but they certainly create a big impact in the garden. Tiny daffodils that replicate their bigger cousins in everything but size, they are just superb. Tough, hardy and easy to grow these daffodils add garden fun and always attract attention. Each bulb produces more than one flower. Ideal in patio pots or woven into garden nooks and crannies.

Pink Daffodils

Softly superb show - simply stunning. Highly decorative Daffodils with broad pale petals and eye catching coronas in shades from salmon to red.

Golden Trumpet Daffodils

Yellow never looked so good. These traditional daffodils in shades of brilliant golden yellow just never go out of style. They also make excellent cut flowers. These two varieties never disappoint. 'Golden Lion' is the best Daffodil variety for warmer climates, 'King Alfred' the best variety for cool climates. They are both the same colour with the same petal structure.

Mixed Daffodils

Tried and tested mixes that are excellent value. These bulbs are all ready to flower this season. This is a cost effective way to create a stunning mass planting of Daffodils. ‘Old Favourite Blend’ contains traditional Daffodils with pronounced trumpets. ‘Scentsational Blend’ is a mixture of Jonquil and Jonquil type Daffodils. ‘Tesselaar’s Choice’ is a blend of both Jonquil and Trumpet Daffodils.

Hoop-Petticoat Daffodils

Golden perfection. An exclusive variety to Tesselaar, that we believe is the best on the market. These garden gems are a wonderful alternative to those looking for a change from traditional daffodils. Attractive cups of golden yellow are abundant from early to mid spring. Narrow semi cylindrical foliage is the ultimate contrast to these abundant bloomers. Fill a pot for a blast of spring colour or plant in rockeries and under trees for great effects. 'Hoop Petticoats' have proven themselves as tough and easy care bulbs that naturalise easily in the garden. Well suited for Australian conditions. Each bulb can produce up to 10 flowers.
