Impressively large flower heads in shades of lilac and purple. Both as a cut flower and a garden blooms are reliable and long lasting. The flowers last 3-4 weeks in the garden and up to 10 in a vase.

Crocus 'Zwanenburg'
Crocus etruscus

A botanical form that flowers earlier than Dutch Crocus. Exquisite, iridescent mauve-blue flowers 3-4cm long. The outside of the petals have a silver sheen and some venation. The venation is most prominent when in bud. Will naturalise nicely in cool to temperate zones. Noted for its ease of growth.

Glory of the Sun
Leucocoryne ixioides

As the name suggests this bulb loves a full sun position. Native to Chile it will thrives in well drained soil. The bulbs are long flowering and are best planted in a north facing position. The charming, delicate flower blooms are white with lilac-blue tips. The flowers exude a sweet scent, blooming in profusion through spring.

Neat Grape Hyacinths
Muscari latifolium

This is a bicoloured variety. The lower part of the flower is deep blue (fertile), almost purple. The top florets are a delightful sky blue (sterile). They are endemic to Turkey where the grow beneath pines. Combine with mini Daffodils for the wow factor. Once you have planted and grown Muscari you will wonder how you ever did without them. They are a low maintenance bulb that create stunning displays. They are great in pots or rockeries too.
