Plumes of feather-like flowers in royal purple shades. Perfect for pots, rockeries and borders, in the garden they are best planted in groups or with other Muscari. The many ‘branches’ of flowers create a feathered look. An appearance that is a little reminiscent of the kooky Cousin Itt from the Adams Family. Flowering a little later than other Grape Hyacinths, it also lasts a long time. The flowers are sterile so they have lasting power in the garden. While you might not see it every day it has been around in cultivation since 1611 and it is renown for its resilience. A sunny spot with good drainage will keep it happy.

Siberian Bluebells 'Spring Beauty'
Scilla sibirica

An excellent bulb for naturalising or used in drifts. The small, nodding flowers bloom in brilliant shades of deep blue with a profusion of blooms throughout the spring. A superior form, ‘Spring Beauty’ has larger flowers (1.5-2cm across) than your average Siberian Squill with 3-5 flowers on each stem. The number of blooms will increase as the bulbs mature. It is versatile succeeding in sun and shade. Early spring flowering, these flowers show up just as the Galanthus are fading. A bulb so hardy it really does grow in Siberia. Flower stems to 20cm above lance shaped basal foliage that averages 10-15cm long. The foliage is quick to fade after the blooms finish so there isn’t a lot of messy foliage around as there often is with bulbs.

Adorable canary yellow flowers. The petals that form the perianth are quite separate, forming a widely spaced bloom. The cup is a deeper yellow with a flat, open shape. Late season flowers with a pleasant fragrance.
