Evening Primrose 'Twilight'
Short delay - awaiting stock
This delightful perennial forms a low, spreading mat defined by slender stems of mid-green leaves, each leaf subtly marked with a purple-bronze centre, especially in younger growth. From late spring through summer (in the Southern Hemisphere), it produces elegant, saucer-shaped flowers of pale pink that fade to soft shell tones, each opening in the evening and offering a light fragrance that draws evening pollinators.
Growing to approximately 30 cm in height and spreading to 60 cm across, it’s ideal for planting in sunny sites, rockeries, slopes or as a charming groundcover. It prefers well-drained soils and thrives under full sun, tolerating poor, gritty or rocky soils once established.
This variety combines ornamental beauty with practical resilience. Its long flowering season, drought tolerance, and appeal to pollinators make it a valuable addition to mixed borders, cottage gardens, or sunlit beds needing a soft carpet of bloom. In warmer climates its spreading habit and evening bloom schedule add magical evening interest, enriching garden life and bringing together form, function and seasonal elegance.
