Delphinium Sherwood Lavender

The lovely lavender stems emerge from tidy mounds of deep green, dissected foliage. New in 2017.
The Sherwood Series of Delphiniums has nice compact growth and totally fabulous flowers. Their stems are strong so staking is not required. They are ideal towards the middle of a border where their blockbuster colours will shine.

Delphiniums need cool winters to grow and perform at their best.

Grow Delphiniums in a humus rich, moist, well drained soil. Delphiniums do not like to sit in water and good drainage is vital. Water in well, then keep moist during active growth.

Once the Delphinium flower stem has finished, cut it back to just above the ground, add some fertiliser and you should have a second flush in autumn. Add more fertiliser when you see the new growth – they are heavy feeders because their blooms are so big and beautiful. Protect Delphiniums from slugs and snails, especially while young, they find them delicious.
