A handsome, bushy plant that can be grown in your garden or a pot, even a hanging basket. The fabulous, mauve blue flowers open in abundance and last well. They are followed by pretty, fluffy seed heads in autumn. It makes a great talking point in the garden and is the perfect partner for shrubs.

Healthy, hardy and easy to grow, the integrifolia clematis group have woody bases and scrambling, or non-vining stems. This means you can grow them along the ground, or train them with ties up obelisks or shrubs etc. they will sort of stand by themselves but are better trailing or tidier with support. This means you can grow them along the ground, or train them with ties up obelisks or happily through shrubs etc. they will sort of stand by themselves but are better trailing or with support.

Bush Clematis is quite tolerant of heat and humidity so you could try it in the warmer climes.

Bush Clematis is pruning group 3, so should be pruned back hard in winter/spring once flowering has concluded. The flowers are suitable for picking.

Clematis grow well where Roses grow well, and they are also excellent in combination. You can use similar colours for a lovely blend or create some drama with bright shades. Clematis will also intermingle well with many plants. They are a fabulous garden plant as they are fast growing and produce lots of flowers.

Plant your Clematis so their 'head' is in the sun and their 'feet' are in the shade. In other words they like their root zone to be cool and protected. In exposed positions this can be achieved with mulch and or by using other plants to shield the roots from the sun. The plant should be allowed to grow up into a sunny position.

Clematis can be trained to grow on a trellis, fence, through trees and shrubs, along pergolas or any where you like! They are so versatile, you can even use them as a ground cover.

To perform at their best they should be fertilised well. Use a Rose Fertiliser every three months or when they are growing actively.

Grow Clematis in humus rich, moist, well drained soil. They need good drainage or the roots will rot. Plant Clematis so they will receive around six hours sun a day and shield from the hot afternoon rays. You can even grow Clematis in pots.
