White petals with red flecks throughout and a clear white eye. I have to say we could have done better with the image here. There is a lot more colour in the petals than you can see here. It is a solid white with plenty of red stripes, there was just too much sun on the day this was taken.
The magnificent Mistral Anemones have been recently imported from Italy and they are bellisimo. There they were bred for pots and gardens, and the result is floriferous plants in an array of the most amazing colours. They will flower earlier, have great botrytis resistance and produce prolific blooms with lovely tall stems that last well in both gardens and vases.
The handsome foliage of Mistral Anemones is light green and heavily dissected.
You can even cut the flowers of Mistral Anemones for indoor display, they will last up to two weeks in a vase. In fact, cutting the flowers has the additional benefit of encouraging more flowers to bloom and longer stems, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds.
Plant Mistral Anemones in humus rich, moist, well drained soil. Fertilise regularly and they will deliver you rich rewards. These small corms grow quickly and bear lots of blooms so they need a good amount of nutrition to flower at their best.
Mistral Anemones were bred by Biancheri Creations of San Remo, Italy. Their breeding program combines tradition with research and focuses not only on creating amazing flowers, but also on producing quality, early flowering plants with high production and consistency. They concentrate only on three flowers, Anemones, Ranunculus and Poppies.
