These pretty flowers have a delicious, sweet perfume with notes of chocolate and vanilla.
Oncidium ‘Heaven Scent Redolence’ is an improved form of the classic ‘Sharry Baby’ (crossed with O. ‘Ruffles’) it offers strong, upright flower stems packed blooms. There are usually one or two, 60cm spikes in a season. They are brightly coloured and the petals have good substance.
Oncidium Orchids are at the intermediate level. They have long, narrow branching stems smothered in fragrant flowers. You will need to be patient with your plants, it may take a season for them to settle in and bear blooms.
Oncidium Orchids grow best in pots or hanging baskets. Grow in a well ventilated area in filtered light. Choose a good quality Orchid potting mix to ensure perfect drainage. Keep them watered, you’ll know if they are thirsty if the bulbs wrinkle.
Originating in the tropics of South America, they require humidity, natural or man made to thrive, so ensure you keep your Oncidiums sheltered in cool climates.
