False Lily of the Valley is an evergreen wonder. The bright green foliage is dotted with white stems of silver white stars throughout spring. The flower stems are around 15cm tall and even have a soft fragrance, though you do have to get your nose down there.
The leaves give Speirantha its common name as they are so similar to Lily of the Valley, though are a little thicker. Native to the mountains of China, it is tolerant of frost. The leaves will gradually form a nice clump.
Grow False Lily of the Valley in a filtered light to part shade position. Plant into humus rich, well drained soils and water to establish. Grow as you would Lily of the Valley or any other woodland plant.
Speirantha is also commonly known as Chinese Lily of the Valley.
