Foxglove ‘Polkadot Petra’ as pink and apricot flowers with deep maroon spotting. Strong and garden worthy.
The Polkadot Foxgloves have larger flowers that open in nice dense racemes. The flowers are sterile, so the blooms last longer.*
Foxgloves bloom from the base of the stalks and gradually move upwards, providing a long show of fantastic colour.
The inner petals have white and maroon polka dots. Polkadot Foxgloves grow 60-90cm tall on strong stems. The base of the stems have evenly branched foliage. These Foxgloves are true perennials and will live for 3-5 years in the garden.
Digitalis look best grouped toward the middle or back of a bed, where their tall blossoms add beautiful colour.
Plant Foxgloves into well drained soil, water in and keep moist in active growth.
The flowers of Foxgloves are produced on a tall spike and are tubular. The individual flowers are about the size and shape of a thimble. The blooms are suitable for cutting.
* The flowers last longer because a plants main goal in life is to reproduce, so when it is unable to produce seed, it keeps on trying in vain, hence the flowers are more enduring.
