A hard working, darling annual with fragrant, spider like blooms for months on end.
Cleomes are rarely seen in Australia and it is a shame. They offer plenty of garden value with great foliage and plenty of flowers. This variety is well branched, with nice, dense, spine free foliage stems to around 60cm with blooms from late spring right into autumn. The flowers are even good for picking.
Cleome ‘Clio Magenta’ will grow well in pots or gardens. Grow in a moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. It is good and upright with strong stems.
The flowers are sterile, so last longer, and all those fabulous beneficial insects love them.
