A short lived perennial or annual with head turning Gentian blue florets with a touch of pink at the base open on upright stems throughout summer. Such a rare and valued colour in the garden. They look fantastic as part of a border or in a rock garden and the bees and butterflies love them.

Penstemon ‘Blue of Zurich’ (Zuriblau) has with a casual, easy nature. Happy in poor, to moderately fertile, well drained soil. Water to establish then only if rainfall is low, dry tolerant once established. It is a good idea to prune back to the woody base after flowering to promote healthy growth. Can be short lived but the seed is viable.
