Aquilegias are old fashioned favourites and proven garden performers. 'McKana Giants' will provide you with a huge variety of the bright, cottage colour they are famous for.

The rainbow mix includes red, white, pink, yellow, blue and bicolour blooms, the combinations are endless. Aquilegia hybridise easily so the colours are a wonderful surprise.

Aquilegia flowers attract plenty of beneficial insects to the garden and are great for picking.

Aquilegias elegant, fern like leaves are a rare blue-green colour and they make a beautiful foil for other plants – especially spring flowering bulbs, as they develop just in time to fill in for the fading foliage of the spring bulbs.

Aquilegia ‘McKana Giants’ is suitable for growing in a lightly shaded to morning sun position. Plant them as massed plantings, in beds or in large containers. After the initial flowering has finished, cut the stems back to the basal foliage for future blooms. Leave the last flowers of the season to form seeds for future generations of plants.

To keep your Aquilegia plants healthy, ensure good air flow around the plants to avoid powdery mildew and watch for aphids. Aquilegia should be planted in humus rich, moist, well drained soil.
