Dwarf Lady's Mantle

A more dwarf form of the common and much loved Lady's Mantle. It hugs the ground making a gorgeous edging plant or ground cover, either in the open or beneath trees and shrubs. The delightful, scalloped leaves are green with a hint of blue, growing to around 4cm across on rust red stems.
The pretty, scalloped, mid green leaves have tiny hairs, so when it rains, the water forms into beads that remain and glitter like diamonds. It is a stunning feature of this rewarding plant.
Dwarf ladies Mantle holds the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit, so you know it is both handsome and easy to grow. It is both long lived and long blooming.

From late spring to autumn, the handsome foliage of Dwarf Lady's Mantle is complemented by loose cymes of lime green flowers that turn rust red as they age. If grown in sun, the foliage can even have a red flush.

Grow Dwarf Lady's Mantle or Alchemilla as a ground cover, in a pot, beneath roses, on embankments, in cottage gardens or towards the front of your beds, to soften the edges. Lady's Mantle grows well in part shade and should be protected from the hot summer sun. Plant in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil for best results.

Prune spent foliage in autumn/winter to keep the plants tidy. Flowers will set seed but are not invasive, the plants ramble gently. It is a good idea to protect young foliage from slugs and snails.
