Anemone Madonna

Late spring to summer, Snowdrop Anemone ‘Madonna’ shines with plenty of big blooms atop the lush, dark green foliage. The flowers have a soft fragrance and delicate appearance. They are followed by fluffy seed heads which are an attraction in themselves.

Snowdrop Anemones are the perfect partners for spring flowering bulbs such as Daffodils and Bluebells, as their foliage emerges in time to disguise the fading leaves of the spring bulbs.

Grow Snowdrop Anemone ‘Madonna’ toward the front of beds, as a shaded ground cover, in rock gardens or containers.

The mid green, glossy leaves are 5-15cm across. It is known as basal foliage because it grows low to, or at ground level.

Plant Snowdrop Anemone ‘Madonna’ in full sun to semi shade. They are quite shade tolerant which is a real boon. Well drained, humus rich soil is ideal. Water to establish and they should be kept moist in active growth. It is worthy to note that in a sunny position they will require more watering.

Snowdrop Anemone ‘Madonna’ is a woody based perennial that will gradually spread with root suckers. These are easily controlled by cutting them off as required, or digging them up to share with friends.
