Delicate, white to softest pink bells hang gracefully from arching stems. Flowers begin early, from late spring and bloom all through summer. The inside of the bloom has decorative maroon markings.

Fairies Fishing Rods are evergreen perennials that will form neat clumps of elegant, arching foliage. You can expect an impressive 3-4 month flowering period from these beauties.

The flowers form on thin stems create movement in the garden as they wave on even the gentlest breeze. Easy to care for, Fairies Fishing Rods will multiply at a moderate rate once established, they don't like their roots to be disturbed so plant them somewhere permanent and give them a year or so to be their best.

Fairies Fishing Rods flower best after they have had time to establish. So expect flower numbers to increase each year. Divide Fairies Fishing Rods as they become overcrowded and the flowering decreases. A humus rich, well drained soil is ideal.
Keep Fairies Fishing Rods relatively moist in flower and dryish over winter. They are mostly trouble free, though Aphids can cause minor damage.

Plant Fairies Fishing Rods by ponds or in beds or borders. They are endemic to South African grassy hills. They look really good when grown in combination with other ornamental grasses.
Fairies Fishing Rods are known botanically as Dierama, other common names include Angel Fishing Rods, Fairy Wandflowers, Fairy Bells and Hair Bells.
