Crimson red, velvet flowers with a double layer of petals. Stunning colour. Garvinea Gerberas leave other Gerberas for dead! They will repeat flower for 6-12 months of the year, don’t have the disease and pest issues that the old varieties have, survive temperatures down to -5C, and come in a fantastic range of bright and beautiful colours and petal types.

Garvinea Gerberas are tougher than the rest and are sensational in pots and gardens. They are undoubtedly the future of garden Gerberas. No longer bred just for florists, gardeners can now maintain healthy plants with ease.

Garvinea Gerberas were bred with wild South African plants. The flower size is a little smaller, but they more than make up for that in quantity, the plants can exceed over 100 flowers a year! In warm zones they will even flower through winter.

How did we do? Have we convinced you that they are the best Gerberas around? We hope so because we are really impressed with these new comers, and we think you will be too.

Gerberas grow well in the garden in a sunny spot in well drained soils. Water to establish then only if rainfall is low.

Gerberas make excellent cut flowers. Be sure to wait a few days or so for the flower to develop, and then pick them, and they will actually last longer. Cut the flowers back to the base of the stem. If you don’t cut blooms for display, you should dead head spent flowers to encourage more blooms. It is also a good idea to add a liquid fertiliser monthly during growth to encourage more flowers and healthy plants.
