A beautiful and easy to grow, Clusiana tulips are commonly termed Lady Tulips or Candlestick Tulips due to their narrow form.

Clusiana Tulip ‘Cynthia’ thrives in areas with cold winters and hot summers. Planted in a morning sun spot with good drainage they can last decades. It holds the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit so you know it can be relied upon.
Tulipa clusiana ‘Cynthia’ multiplies through underground stolons and bulb offsets at a moderate rate, it will not set seed.

The Clusiana species are also known as Persian Tulips, though they are believed to be endemic to Spain. It is a strong growing and popular tulip species that has been cultivated throughout Europe since the early 17th Century. This particular variety (‘Cynthia’) was first sold in 1959.

Species Tulips have a more relaxed or whimsical feel than the common hybridized varieties. And are ideal for rock gardens, lawn plantings, pots or towards the front of a border.
