These plants are in 5cm pots and will take 2-3 years to flower and are well worth the wait.

A stunning, evergreen, miniature orchid with masses of cascading, golden blooms (3cm) in spring. The pendent racemes grow up to 30cm long with up to 20 blooms on each stem. The pseudobulbs are squat and around 5cm tall and produce a flat, single leaf in mid green. 2-3 years to flower. This is a tetrapoid and the flowers are wide with good substance to the petals, they begin to form in winter and last into spring, the blooms colouring increasing as they mature. The blooms have a soft, honey perfume.

This Dendrobium is a warm to intermediate orchid ideal for growing in bright, indirect light (such as in a shade house or under a tree) with good ventilation. They are epiphytic and can be grown a number of ways; on bark, coconut husk, potted in orchid mix (tall pot) or in the crevice of a tree or rocks. They are dormant late autumn to winter, grow summer to autumn.

Dendrobium Orchids can be grown through most of Australia as they are tolerant of a wide range of temperatures. In cold climates they will need some protection from winter rains. They like their roots to be crowded in. Water and fertilise regularly in spring and summer. Keep them on the dry side in autumn and winter, but not so dry that the canes shrivel. In too little light they will have dark leaves and be stubborn to bloom, in too much light their foliage will bleach.
