Large, intricately detailed flowers, to 9cm flower through the warm months of spring to autumn (it can flower any time and do so as each pseudobulb matures) and over an eight to ten week period. The flower spikes have multiple blooms. The petals are strong yellow, with hints of green in certain lights and a mahogany pattern. They last well.
They are in a 5cm pot, approximately 10cm tall, so will be around three years to flower depending on conditions, they grow around 5-10cm a year and will fill a 15cm pot in 3-6 years.
X Bakerara Orchids are a hybrid cross of Brassia, Miltonia, Odontoglossum and Oncidium Orchids. They are also known as Degarmoara Orchids. They have good, strong growth and detailed, bright colouring. They are commonly known as the Halloween Orchid for their markings and the time of year they bloom.
X Bakerara Orchids are intermediate growers and they like around 70% humidity, with temperatures 15-28C during the day and down to 6-8C at night to promote blooms.
X Bakerara Orchids grow best in orchid pots, slabs or hanging baskets. Grow in a well ventilated area in medium to strong, filtered light. Choose a good quality Orchid potting mix to ensure they have the drainage they need. Keep them watered, you’ll know if they are thirsty as the bulbs will wrinkle.
