Brilliant, cerise purple to pink flowers with a heart of gold. There are up to eight whorls on a stem and they stand tall to 60cm. The leaves form a basal rosette of emerald green. A great choice for bog gardens, by the side of streams or ponds.
Primula beesiana holds the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit so you know it has earned its place in the garden.
Candelabra Primrose is an excellent companion for spring flowering bulbs as it comes into its own as they are finishing. Easy care and quick to settle in.
Place Primula beesiana in a position that is sheltered from the hot afternoon sun. In the garden, plant into humus rich, moist, well drained soil. Water well to establish, it takes plants around 4-6 weeks for their roots to penetrate the surrounding soil and gain access to its moisture and nutrients. Grows in boggy conditions.
Primula beesiana is commonly known as Candelabra Primula, Bee’s Primrose, Candelabra Primrose or the less inspiring Bog Primula.
