Allium 'Bridal Mist' is a tough, ornamental garlic with snow white flowers. The blooms open in loose umbels for up to three weeks. We think it is a good idea to plant them in massed groups, or clumps for best effect. The flowers are good for picking and can even be dried.
These tough bulbs are easy to grow and good for naturalising. Keep Allium 'Bridal Mist' dry during dormancy and you should only need to water them in growth if rainfall is low.
Grow Allium 'Bridal Mist' in borders, beds, rockeries and pots.
Alliums are tough, hardy, and beautiful too! They are members of the onion family and when bruised, or crushed the foliage smells just like onions.
Plant Alliums into well drained soil in a sunny position. They will need at least six hours of sun and a warm spot in the garden to thrive. Plant to a depth of around 20cm or four times the height of the bulb. Once planted, the bulbs are best left to naturalise. This means you can relax and leave them in the ground year after year and just enjoy the late spring flowers. To help them on the way, add a well balanced fertiliser in autumn.
Our Tip: Plant amongst perennials to keep the foliage hidden. As with most Alliums, the leaves begin yellow as the blooms take off. It is also a good idea to protect new foliage should be protected from slugs and snails.
