The tall flowers wave like magic wands in the summer breeze ... And they are really a little big magical because they flower so freely with so little effort.
The erect flower stems of Veronicastrums are ideal for architectural interest in the garden. They look sensational planted with grasses, or in a cottage setting.
The flowers are similar to Veronicas which is where they get their botanical name, Veronicastrum. The lance like leaves form whorls along the stems.
Grow Veronicastrum in moderately fertile to humus rich, moist, well drained soil. Plant in a full sun to part shade position. Ensure there is good air flow around the plants.
Veronicastrum is commonly known as Culver's root.
