You will have an abundance of elegant spathes for months on end from this super Arum. The large trumpets are antique white with the most wonderful pink blush. The blush deepens as the weather warms up – and you will get the best colour in full sun. The strong flower stems can grow up to a metre tall. I know we already said the flowers were abundant, but I thought it best to add it twice because they really are! In mild climates they will spot flower year round. The spathes are 10-15cm tall.
The foliage is Arum Lily ‘Pink Mist’ is mid to dark green, It is lush and forms a generous clump in the garden. As well as the blooms the leaves make a lovely addition to the vase. From planting they take 8-16 weeks to bloom depending on conditions.
Grow Arum Lily ‘Pink Mist’ in a full sun to semi shaded spot with humus rich, moist soil. Their height and form is perfect for the middle of a bed or border. We have also found them quite successful in large pots. Water in then keep them moist in active growth, if they dry out they will surely sulk. A layer of compost mulch in summer will help keep the soil up to their standard and aid with water retention. Arum lilies don’t like to be disturbed so give them a full season to settle and be at their best.
Arum lilies have made a bad name for themselves as invasive, it has to be said they will settle in by a stream or pond and grow to a nice clump, but they will not roam – so don’t dump their tubers anywhere that you don’t want them to grow and there isn’t a worry.
