A regal choice with variegated foliage and lasting flowers. The brilliant, purple blue blooms open from early spring and bloom on into autumn.
The new leaves have a coy pink blush before maturing to a green and cream variegation. The pink blush will be at its best during the cooler months. It makes a great ground cover, creeper, edging plant or container sensation. Ajuga ‘Princess Nadia’ copes well with shade or shade and maintains flowering in both – but you will get the best foliage colour in mottled light or part shade.
The accented, evergreen foliage is also a great weed suppressor. It is an easy care rhizomatous perennial that spreads at a moderate pace through stolons. Plant in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. Water in well and it will become dry tolerant once established. In pots use a good quality potting mix and add a little fertiliser annually in spring.
