Sweet mauve blue blooms to 3.5cm across open freely amongst mid green leaves. The flowers have a pretty white patch with a golden crest on the petal falls.
Dwarf Crested Iris grows well in dry shade or moist sun. This makes them nice and versatile in the garden! Try them under deciduous trees, by a sunny pond, in rockeries, pots or the edges of garden beds.
Dwarf Crested Iris or Iris cristata has sword shaped foliage that grows to 15cm tall.
Plant in well drained, humus rich soil. Plant with the rhizome at the soil surface. Space Dwarf Crested Iris around 10cm apart. Water in well, then they will become dry tolerant as they establish.
