Portuguese Squill 'Hughii'
Remarkable blooms.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.
Huge heads of soft, mauve blue stars, up to 20cm across. The centre of the bloom begins green, graduating to purple as the flowers open from the outside in. The flowers are spectacular and last many weeks.
A very rare but easy to grow treat.
Peruvian Lily are good bulbs for naturalising, the bulbs will grow large before they begin to produce offsets. The glossy, mid green leaves are mostly upright and form a rosette around the flower stem.
Plant Squill in well drained, humus rich soil in a full sun to light shade position. Water to establish and keep moist during active growth. It may become dormant in the hot, dry days of summer, it soon reshoots with the autumn rains.
