Dowdeswell Delphinium New Millennium 'Mini Stars' Mixed
Garden highlights.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

A delightful mix of purples, blues, pinks, whites and creams. These true dwarf Delphinium plants are ideal for smaller gardens, or the middle of perennial beds.
They are from the same elite breeder as the taller Dowdeswell Delphiniums and have the equivalent solid reputation. The stems will grow to half or just above the usual Dowdeswell Delphinium height – just under a metre. They are very strong, so if you plant them in a sheltered spot you won’t need to stake.
With a little care, they will also repeat flower. Once the first bloom has finished in summer (December/January), cut the stem right back and add some fertiliser, the second flower stem will open late summer to autumn (February/March/April).
Plant Delphinium New Millennium ‘Dwarf Stars’ in full sun to light shade. Ensure you allow good air flow between plants. Delphiniums need a cool to temperate climate to grow and perform at their best.
Grow Delphiniums New Millennium ‘Dwarf Stars’ in a humus rich, moist, well drained soil, they tend to rot if left sitting in water so drainage is vital. Delphiniums are heavy feeders, so to flower at their best they need to be fertilised well. A well rotted sheep manure and some mulch is recommended. Water in well, then keep moist during active growth.
It is a good idea to protect Delphiniums from slugs and snails, especially while young, they find them delicious.
