- Water to establish, it takes plants 4-6 wks of regular watering for their roots to gain access to the moisture in the surrounding soil, then keep moist in active growth, they will flower longer and more abundantly with a bit of extra care. Protect from too much winter wet.

- Dead head regularly to maintain blooms. Cut back spent flowers and foliage to tidy. At the end of the season you can leave the upright stems on display through winter.
- Notes
- Dig and divide every three years or so to maintain vigour. They can spread with runners under the soil and will form a thick mat no weed can penetrate. Water only in the morning to avoid mildew problems, these cultivars have strong resistance but care should be taken to avoid it completely. Flowers can be dried for arrangements. Protect from slugs and snails. Suitable for containers – but you will need to ensure you water well.
