Size (HxW): 50-120cm x 60-70cm
Depth & Spacing: Plant at the same level as in the pot. Space 60-70cm apart.
Soil: Moderately fertile to humus rich, moist soil.
Aspect: Semi shade to filtered light, keep protected from the hot afternoon sun, it is a woodland plant. Protect from drying winds.
Climate: Cool to Mediterranean
Frost: Hardy
Water: Water to establish then keep moist in active growth. They can handle a lot of water and will flower better with it. As they establish they become more dry tolerant but can sulk if left too dry. Fertiliser: Add a well balanced fertiliser in spring with the new growth, they aren’t overly heavy feeders.
Flowering Time: Late spring to summer
After Flower Care: Remove spent flowers and foliage to tidy. Cut back late winter/early spring to allow the new growth to shine.
Notes: If leaves are damaged by late frost, allow them to stay then remove once the threat of frost has passed. It is a good idea to protect the foliage from slugs and snails.
