A wonderful, enduring plant for a sunny spot that will tough out some trying conditions. The new foliage has a strong plum blush that lasts winter to spring. Then, when the weather warms in summer, it turns green before being absolutely covered in marshmallow pink flowers that can last into autumn.
The flowers of Oenothera ‘Twilight’ open from the middle of summer right into autumn.
Oenothera is commonly known as Evening Primrose, though these flowers open in the daylight. Try growing Oenothera ‘Twilight’ in rock gardens, towards the front of beds and borders, embankments, along paths or even in a pot.

Grow Oenothera ‘Twilight’ in full sun to light shade in average to humus rich, well drained soil. They can thrive in hot and dry situations. Water well to establish, over the first four to six weeks or so, then they become more dry tolerant once established. A light application of a slow release fertiliser in spring is all they need.
Leave a few flower heads to set seed for future generations and to increase your display, they aren’t heavy seeders by any means. The seeds will germinate naturally in spring or you can collect it to sow at the same time. In very cold climates they can be winter dormant.
