Miscanthus Kleine Fontaine
Exquisite late season colour.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.
A lovely compact grass that forms dense clumps of narrow silver foliage. It is absolutely fabulous in drifts as part of lawn schemes, in clumps in cottage gardens, in pots, massed displays or along fence lines. The foliage is quite upright, arching in a relaxed way towards the top of the plant. The silver leaves have white midribs and turn to straw yellow in autumn.
Summer to autumn Miscanthus ‘Kleine Fontaine’ is freely crowned with creamy-pink feather like blooms – the colouring changes in the light and as they mature.
Miscanthus ‘Kleine Fontaine’ holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. It was bred by renowned plantsman Ernest Pagels.
Miscanthus ‘Kleine Fontaine’ is a clump forming herbaceous grass that is easy to grow. Plant Miscanthus into any well drained soil in a sunny position, water to establish then only if rainfall is low. Dry tolerant once established.
Miscanthus ‘Kleine Fontaine’ can be left to stand over winter and it remains decorative. Cut back late winter or early spring to allow the new foliage to shine through. Will gradually form a nice clump.
