Eupatorium 'Flore Plena'
A stylish choice.
In stock (low stock)

A gorgeous, strong growing perennial with robust, red stems of dark green leaves. This impressive plant shines at the back of beds and borders, forming dense clumps of upright foliage with masses of flowers summer to autumn.
Eupatorium ‘Flore Plena’ flowers from summer to autumn with abundant purple to pink flower heads. The flat topped panicles are around 10cm across and the bees and butterflies love them. The lush green foliage has a sweet fragrance.
It is commonly used in Europe as cut flowers – so you know it will last well in a vase. You can even leave the flower heads on over winter where they continue to remain ornamental.
Plant Eupatorium ‘Flore Plena’ into humus rich, moist, well drained soil. Grows well in clay soils. Suitable for full sun to part shade positions.
Keep an eye out for aphids, especially in summer, treat with your choice of insecticide (home made or commercial). Cut back when you are ready, the senescent foliage and flowers will hold their own over winter for an early spring prune – or you might prefer they are cut back when the silver turns to bronze.
