Veronica ‘Purpleicious’ is tidy and compact with an abundance of sensational, upright, brilliant purple flower spikes from late spring and all through summer (as long as Dec-May) and into autumn. They are fabulous in massed plantings and look amazing as part of a sunny bed or even in pots.
Veronica ‘Purpleicious’ holds the prestigious RHS award of garden merit so you know it has been put through its paces and is not difficult to grow and garden worthy. It also has excellent disease resistance.
The flowers of Veronica ‘Purpleicious’ are suitable for picking. The deep green leaves are nice and bushy, growing around 20cm up the stem, leaving the flowers to show off above. The flowers have the added benefit of attracting plenty of beneficial insects such as bees and butterflies to the garden.
Grow Veronica ‘Purpleicious’ in moderately fertile to humus rich, moist, well drained soil. Plant in full sun to light shade. Water to establish and keep moist in active growth. Dead head flowers regularly to keep them blooming into autumn. Suitable for pots or the front of a border or massed plantings.
Veronica is commonly known as Speedwell.
