A garden worthy choice for shade or sun, with glossy green foliage that turns brilliant reds in autumn.
This handsome plant has the versatility to grow as a ground cover, climber or trailing plant for pots and hanging baskets. You can even grow them indoors. The textural foliage sits just above the ground and will ramble across it, sitting proudly above. It is just as easy over a trellis, on an obelisk or up a fence or wall.
Parthenocissus sikkimensis is much slower than traditional Parthenocissus. It will gradually sprawl to cover areas, and rarely needs to be pruned.
Parthenocissus sikkimensis has glossy, palmate, or five lobed leaves in mid to deep green. They are very shade tolerant, don’t mind morning sun, though may stress in afternoon sun.
Plant Sikkim Creeper into moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. Water in (plants take around four weeks of regular watering to establish), they become dry tolerant once established. That is about it! They will do their own thing while you do yours, and when you pass by you can smile to yourself.
