Lamium 'Jade Frost'
Easy evergreen groundcovers.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.
Deep green leaves with splashes of silver frost. One of the easiest evergreen ground covers for shade. The variegation makes for a lovely feature in a shade garden, and they can tough out trying conditions with ease.
From spring the leaves are joined by little, soft yellow flowers that remain until the weather cools.
Quick to establish and long lasting.
Lamium ‘Jade Frost’ is a low maintenance plant that grows to form handsome clumps at a moderate rate. Plant it as a ground cover in shade (even dry shade is ok), beneath trees, in mixed pots as a spiller or even hanging baskets.
Plant in moderately fertile to humus rich soil. Choose a part shade to filtered light position. Water in, then you only need worry only if rainfall is low, they are quite dry tolerant once established. If there is too much sun the foliage will burn. Lamium ‘Jade Frost’ will spread, but is easily removed as required. In really cold climates where the ground freezes they may go dormant over winter.
Lamium is also known rather drolly as Spotted Dead Nettle.
