We are all shook up about this super star. The masses of flowers are tall and eye-catching, forming a violet haze over the dark foliage from summer through to frost. Plectranthus ‘Velvet Elvis’ is a new, garden worthy addition. Useful as a border filler, specimen plant or in a container. It will even grow indoors.
The super star leaves are a nice feature, they are dark green with a purple reverse.
This vigorous plant will establish quickly. Plant in full sun to shade. They easily tolerate root competition under trees. Water to establish, then only if rainfall is low, they are dry tolerant once established. In cold climates they are deciduous, everywhere else can enjoy them year round.
Plectranthus ‘Velvet Elvis’ is an improved form of the old favourite ‘Mona Lavender’.
