We are all shook up about this super star.
The masses of flowers form a violet haze over the dark foliage from summer through to frost. The handsome foliage is deep green with a dark purple reverse.
Plectranthus ‘Velvet Elvis’ is a new, garden worthy addition. Useful as a border filler, specimen plant or in a container. It even makes a great house plant.
This vigorous plant will establish quickly, is easy to grow and will even thrive in poor soils. A part shade to morning sun position is ideal. They easily tolerate root competition under trees. Water to establish, then only if rainfall is low, they are dry tolerant once established. In cold climates they are deciduous; everywhere else can enjoy them year round. Give them a light prune after flowering to keep them nice and tidy.
