Ethereal shades of apricot, peach and pink splashed with decorative spotting.
Simple to plant, hardy and easy grow, Winter Roses will flower for decades without much fuss. One of their best features is their winter blooms, which are often hard to come by. Their second strength is their love of hard to fill shaded garden areas.
Winter Roses, or Hellebores are durable and versatile in the garden. They grow best beneath deciduous trees, in filtered light or part shade (they don't tend to flower as well in really heavy shade). You can also choose to plant Winter Rose in beds sheltered from hot afternoon sun or even in pots. The flowers are long lasting and measure 5-8cm across.
The blooms open so freely there is plenty for picking - a real boon for winter. A nice way to display them is floating in a bowl as a table centrepiece. The stems can also be picked for vases. You can dip them in boiling water after picking to prolong their life.
