Stylish and reliable plants that will slowly, but surely form a nice sized cluster in the garden. Both the new foliage and the stems have a handsome blonde blush. The flowers are plentiful, opening on narrow, branched stems. Each bloom is around 5-7cm and is a lovely combination of cream, pink and purple, with red spotting. The flowers will stick around for an impressive period over summer, from around December to February over the mid green foliage.
Plant Campanula punctata ‘Rubriflora’ in moderately fertile to humus rich, moist, well drained soil. Water in and keep moist during active growth, with moisture it will flower and thrive, and win a place in your heart forever, without it they won’t impress you much. It will slowly spread with underground rhizomes to form a decent clump that can then be shared. It is a good idea to protect young plants from slugs and snails who find them very tasty.
Campanulas are commonly known as Bellflowers. Campanula is Latin for little bell.
