Candle Anemone

Enjoy weeks of bright white, blushed green blooms over lush, green foliage. After the flowers drop their petals, the seed cone elongates to the eponymous cylindrical shape as the seeds ripen. These unusual seed heads are wonderfully decorative and long lasting.

The lush, divided leaves form a lovely soft feature in the garden for many months.

Plant this herbaceous perennial into moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. Ideal in a morning sun, or part shade position in the garden. Water to establish, then only if rainfall is low during growth, they have good dry tolerance. As the seeds mature they will develop into cotton like tussocks that are scattered by the wind, they need a long period of cold in order to germinate or can be collected for sowing.

They really aren't fussy and will bring you a long display for very little effort.
