A simple to grow, gratifying, compact plant with boundless blooms that are great for picking. This is a good, old fashioned Daisy with the reinforced strength of modern breeding techniques – longer more abundant flowering and excellent disease resistance.
The flowers will create a mass of floral impact in your beds or containers. Each layered bloom is 7-10cm across and will fill your vases almost endlessly. The strong stems are lovely and upright and form a layer of garden colour.
Leucanthemum ‘Dreams’ is a vigorous cultivar with strong, upright stems that do not require staking. The mid to dark green leaves grow along the base of the stems.
Plant Leucanthemum ‘Dreams’ in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. Water to establish then only if rainfall is low. Pick the flowers regularly to encourage more blooms – the first flush through spring /summer and if cut will show a rebloom in autumn. Cut back hard in winter/early spring to maintain a healthy, compact plant.
Leucanthemum are commonly known as Shasta Daisies. The genus name, Leucanthemum is Greek and descriptive of the bloom; Leucos translates to white and anthos to flower.
